Why those cats called Neva Masquerade?  

Cats of this breed were called the Neva masquerade cat because of the dark markings on the face, which are somewhat reminiscent of a carnival mask.

The breeding of Neva Masquerade cats was first started at the St. Petersburg club “Kotofey” in 1989. Now, Neva masquerade cats are a huge success all over the world. 

Description of the breed

The Neva Masquerade cat is a large, strong, but at the same time very graceful animal. A distinctive feature of the breed is its dense, thick coat, incredibly long on the chest, neck, and paws.

Representatives of this breed have various colors: black-brown, orange-white, silver-blue, and their variants. Neva masquerade cats have a lighter body color, and their muzzle, ears, tail, and paws are dark. The incredible thing is that kittens are born completely white, and their fur acquires color within a month.
